Terms & Conditions
Effective: January 2024
By purchasing Textures LVT, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions regarding its installation, care, and warranty.
1. Product Inspection Before Installation
- Before installation, inspect all flooring materials for correct colour, design, size, and ensure the correct quantity is available to complete the job.
- Verifying materials in advance helps avoid delays.
2. Site Conditions
- All flooring materials and adhesives must be stored and maintained between 19°C (65°F) and 30°C (85°F) for at least 48 hours before, during, and after installation.
- Subfloor temperature must be no lower than 10°C.
- Maintain relative humidity between 35% and 65%.
- Permanent heating systems must be used to maintain temperature.
- Store all flooring flat and away from direct sunlight, heaters, or vents.
3. Subfloor Requirements
General
- A properly prepared subfloor is essential for a successful installation.
- The subfloor must be rigid, smooth, flat, level, clean, and dust-free.
Concrete Subfloors
- Must be dry, smooth, and free of contaminants like dust, paint, wax, oil, or sealants.
- The surface should be dense and flake-free.
Wood Subfloors
- Test moisture using a pin-type moisture meter.
- Moisture content must not exceed 13%.
4. Adhesive Guidelines
- Use only adhesives from F BALL, Uzin, Bostik, or Mapei, as these are tested with Textures LVT.
- Different environments (e.g., high temperatures) require specific adhesives—consult the adhesive manufacturer for guidance.
- Using unapproved adhesives voids the product warranty. Contractors/installers assume full risk.
Health and Safety
- Adhesives may contain hazardous organic solvents. Prolonged inhalation may cause adverse health effects.
- Always ventilate work areas and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- After installation, ventilate the space for 2–3 days to dissipate any odours.
5. Installation Guidelines
Laying Direction
- Plan the layout in advance based on room shape and flooring design.
- Aim for minimum 15 cm cuts at walls for tiles and 15–30 cm for planks.
- Stagger plank rows so end joints do not align with previous rows.
- Reuse plank offcuts ≥15 cm for starting the next row.
6. Post-Installation Care
- Do not slide heavy furniture/appliances. Use plywood sheets, dollies, or air-ride devices.
- Use furniture glides/protectors to avoid damage.
- Wait at least 7 days before wet-cleaning, scrubbing, or stripping the floor.
7. Underfloor Heating
- Underfloor heating must be turned off 48 hours before and after installation.
- After installation, gradually increase temperature in 5°C increments up to a max of 27°C (80°F) over 24 hours.
- Maintain floor temperatures between 13°C and 30°C during usage.
8. Cleaning & Maintenance
- Do not use steam cleaners—they may damage the floor layers and void the warranty.
- Clean spills immediately to prevent damage.
- General cleaning includes sweeping, vacuuming, or damp wiping with minimal moisture.
- Use polyurethane cleaner for heavy soiling.
- Aggressive or staining substances must be cleaned off immediately.
9. Water Resistance
- Textures LVT can withstand short-term water exposure (e.g., from washing machine leaks).
- Prolonged or standing water exposure is not permitted—layers may separate.
- Not suitable for wet room installations.
- Always clean up spills promptly.
10. Damage Prevention
- Protect floors during heavy item movement to avoid scratches/tears.
- Use wide floor protectors under heavy furniture.
- Place walk-off mats at all entrances to reduce wear from dirt and moisture.
- Use blinds or curtains to prevent prolonged direct sunlight, which may cause discolouration or damage.
11. Routine Maintenance
- Regularly clean using a dry cloth or vacuum.
- Minimise moisture when mopping—always wring out cleaning cloths.
- Promptly remove any staining substances to avoid long-term damage.
12. Complaints Procedure
- Visible defects must be reported prior to installation—no claims will be accepted after the floor is laid.
- Submit any complaint with a completed complaints form and supporting photos.
Inspection Service
- (a) If the complaint is upheld, the supplier will cover the inspection cost.
- (b) If the issue is due to installation or subfloor preparation, the contractor or retailer will be invoiced for the inspection, as the product is not at fault.
- If a complaint is upheld, compensation is limited to the cost of the replacement material only. No installation or refitting costs will be covered.
